MailOnline: Daily News Updates App Reviews

Entertaining and useful

Most of us have dozens or hundreds of apps on our devices. And hardly ever use most of them. I use MailOnline every day. That alone erns it a 5-Star.

Is this app for real?

Like many others have mentioned, the spelling and grammar is atrocious in almost every story. Neither can they count- several times they will have a "top 10" list with only 9 items. Ive also emailed their editorial staff about ridiculous mistakes and have received no feedback. I should start posting these screen shots on the offending journalists LinkedIn page or Twitter. The app itself though performs poorly. It crashes constantly, will not load new content and will freeze frequently. However when I have emailed screen shots of these events happening and sent them to the technical support on the app they are always very willing to discuss the feedback and find a solution. Also- I think this app got hacked recently? A notification kept popping up that would not let me read a story unless I went to this other website

Nice App, Hate the Adds!

I would rate this app higher but I usually delete apps immediately when they have adds. If the apps are useful and they offer a small fee to turn off annoying adds, Im fine with that. Unfortunately, this app doesnt have availability to turn off adds even as a purchase fee to disable adds. I find its a very useful app and love it, but I will most likely will be deleting the App SOON because of the annoyance of adds. I dont have any apps on my iPads, iPhones that have adds in the app. Otherwise, if you do not mind the adds, you will find this app very useful.

No sound on video

iPhone 6+, no sound on video. Very disappointed.

Awful

Awful content. Waste of time.

They are using a trick to force ad openings

I noticed that when scrolling in this app, I would inadvertently open an ad, which would open a webpage then launch the App Store like uber or such. It kept happening over and over and it NEVER USED TO. I found that if you scroll to the bottom with your thumb, take your thumb off, then try to scroll again... It wont! This only happens when an ad is on screen because your natural tendency is when it wont scroll, you lift your thumb up to move it up to try again. If you lift your thumb up while on the ad, you launch the ad! Come on dailymail... Why are you tricking your readers into opening the ad... I know, you get ££ for a click through and really aggravating the crap out of your readers. Bad enough you seed ads throughout the article, you are forcing your readers to open the ad through trickery. I never thought the dailymail would get so dodgy!!! Bloody buggers you are!

Ads are positioned so you always hit them

The app for the iPhone is worthless. They have decided break stories into pieces and place ads between them. Theyve made the ads so large that when you try and scroll you almost always hit it causing it to exit the app and open safari for the ads website to be displayed. Forget this app at all cost, go to their website instead.

Good app

Wish I discovered this years ago!

Some issues

1. Whoever writes the articles needs a REAL editor!!! A drunk second grader could use the English language better. 2. Make it so I can access my profile to read up and down votes and replies to comments within the app so I can drop safari for viewing the site.
